Destin is a coastal community in the Florida ‘Panhandle’, located in Okaloosa County. It is a principal city of the Crestview–Fort Walton Beach–Destin, Florida metropolitan area. Part of the beautiful Emerald Coast beaches, the Destin area, which includes Destin, Fort Walton Beach, Okaloosa Island, and the Beaches of South Walton along Scenic Highway 30-A, is known for its white beaches and emerald green waters and has something for everyone.
The local economy is driven by two primary factors: Tourism and the Military. The tourism industry is seasonal, with summer being the primary season and a smaller peak season during spring break.
Destin is known as the "World's Luckiest Fishing Village." The city houses the largest and most elaborately equipped fishing fleet in the State of Florida and is a popular tourist destination, with over 4.5 million visitors visiting Destin each year.
Our military neighbors include Eglin Air Force Base and Hurlburt Field, with additional military units at the Coast Guard Station, Destin, the 919th Special Operations Wing at Duke Field, and the 7th Special Forces Group at Eglin.
Okaloosa County is also a booming center of economic development that boasts some of the state's best schools, a low unemployment rate and a second-to-none workforce needed for businesses looking to relocate or expand.
